Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the Oxford Concrete website and any work you hire us to do. By using the site, asking for an estimate or booking a job with us, you agree to them.
If a written estimate or contract for your job says something different from this page, the signed document for your job wins. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the site or book work with us.
What we do
Oxford Concrete is a concrete contractor in Oxford, AL. We build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, slabs, footings, foundations, retaining walls and other concrete work for homes and businesses in Oxford and the cities around it.
The service descriptions on our home page and the rest of the site are general information. They aren't a promise of any result for your property, because every yard, base and drainage situation is different. The scope of your job is whatever your written estimate or contract describes. You can read more about who we are on our About page.
Estimates and pricing
Our quotes are free and given on site, with no obligation to hire us. An estimate is based on what we can see and measure that day, including the size of the area, the thickness of the slab, the condition of the ground underneath, access for trucks and equipment, removal of old concrete and the finish you choose.
Some things only show up once the old slab is out or the digging starts, such as soft or wet ground, roots, buried debris or old fill. If that happens, we'll stop, show you what we found and explain the cost before doing extra work. We won't charge for added work you haven't approved.
Prices on an estimate hold for the period written on it. After that, material and fuel costs may change the price, and we'll give you an updated figure before you commit.
Scheduling, weather and cancellation
We give you a start date when you book, but concrete depends on the weather. Rain, freezing temperatures or extreme heat can push a pour back, because pouring in bad conditions makes a weaker slab. We'll let you know as soon as we can if your date has to move, and we won't count weather delays as our failure to perform.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please tell us as early as you can by phone or through our Contact page. If we've already ordered concrete, rented equipment or started site prep for your job, you may be charged for those costs. Your contract will say what applies to your job.
New concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens and gains strength. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk and drive on it. Damage caused by using the slab before then isn't covered.
Payment
Payment terms, including any deposit and when the balance is due, are set out in your written estimate or contract. Unless that document says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is complete.
If a payment is late, we may pause further work until it's settled, and you'll be responsible for reasonable collection costs allowed under Alabama law. If you have a question about an invoice, call us before the due date so we can sort it out.
Our guarantee and what it doesn't cover
Our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something isn't right with work we did, call us and we'll come look at it and make it right where the problem comes from our workmanship.
Concrete can crack. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give the slab a place to crack in a straight line instead of at random, but small hairline cracks and slight color differences are normal and aren't defects.
The guarantee doesn't cover damage from heavy vehicles or equipment the slab wasn't built for, ground movement, tree roots, flooding, drainage changes made after we leave, de-icing salts, chemicals, lack of maintenance or work done by someone else. Apart from what's written in these terms or your contract, we make no other promises about the work, stated or implied, to the extent Alabama law allows.
Limits on our liability
We carry insurance and work carefully, but to the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We aren't liable for indirect or follow-on losses, such as lost use of your property, lost income or inconvenience.
You're responsible for telling us about anything buried in the work area that isn't marked by the utility locate service, such as private water lines, sprinkler lines, septic parts or wiring. We aren't responsible for damage to items we weren't told about.
Information on this website is provided as is. We try to keep it accurate, but we don't promise it's complete or current, and you shouldn't rely on it in place of an on-site estimate.
If there's a disagreement
If you're unhappy with anything, please call us at (256) 649-5980 or reach us through our Contact page first. Most problems get settled with a conversation and a visit to look at the work together.
If we can't settle it that way, both sides agree to try in good faith to resolve it before going to court. Any legal case about these terms or our work will be brought in the courts of Alabama.
Governing law
These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted on this page is the one that applies, and changes take effect when they're posted.
Changes won't affect a job already under a signed estimate or contract unless you agree to them in writing. If you have questions about these terms, you can reach us on our Contact page.
