About our concrete contractor business in Oxford

A wide, smooth concrete driveway leads to a large two-story home with stone accents and three garage doors.

How I came back to concrete in Oxford

I learned concrete on a crew when I was younger, then spent years doing other work before I came back to it and started Oxford Concrete here in 2023. Coming back with fresh eyes made me curious about why one slab holds up and the one next door cracks and sinks, and I still like working that out on every driveway, patio and foundation we pour.

Most of the answer is the part nobody sees once it's poured. That's the subgrade, the packed ground the slab sits on, and where the water goes when it rains. I'd rather ask one more question at the estimate than find a surprise on pour day, so I'm the one who comes out to look, and I stay on the job with the crew. Homeowners around Oxford and the cities nearby call us, along with some small business owners, and you'll find everything we pour on our home page.

What working with us looks like for you

These are the things you'll notice from the first visit to the day the forms come off, because they decide whether the job goes the way you pictured it.

  • The same person from estimate to pour

I look at every job myself and stay on it with the crew that does the work. Whatever you told me about the low spot by the garage or the roots along the walk is still with me on pour day.

  • We take on jobs with a catch

A slope that holds water, an old slab that has to be cut out or a layout that isn't square is the kind of job we dig into instead of passing on. We'll also tell you plainly what we can't know until the ground is opened up.

  • An estimate you can line up against others

Your estimate spells out what's included and what isn't, like the dig-out, the base and the rebar, the steel that holds a slab together inside. That way you can compare our bid with someone else's fairly, item by item.

Licenses and city rules behind your job

  • Fully licensed and insured

We're fully licensed and insured. In Alabama, the state Home Builders Licensure Board covers anyone who builds, repairs or improves a home when the job costs more than $10,000 in labor and materials together, so a bigger job like a new foundation can fall under it.

  • City business license and building permits

The City of Oxford requires every business to hold a city business license before it works in the city, and the city's guidance says changes costing more than $500, materials and labor included, need a building permit. We check with the local building office about each job before work starts and tell you plainly what it needs and who handles it.
